A Constitution for Aotearoa-New Zealand
based on the Treaty of Waitangi

You are invited to a symposium titled 'A Constitution for Aotearoa-New Zealand based on the Treaty of Waitangi' with Moana Jackson (Ngati Kahungunu, Ngati Porou, Lawyer, Academic). These will be held in Wellington on 29 June, in Christchurch on 12 July, and in Auckland on 21 July 2005 (details below).

"Much discussion about a constitution is centred around the place of the Treaty of Waitangi. That discussion raises the question - what is the relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi in Aotearoa-New Zealand today? Moana Jackson is clear that the Treaty shapes constitutional discussions. This symposium provides an opportunity for members of the public to enter into dialogue with Moana around the concept of building a constitution around the Treaty."
