*** AUCKLAND

~ TUES, 2 May - Animal rights activists from around the country will be protesting at the World Pork Expo and Conference on May 2nd at Ellerslie in Auckland. The aim is to show the publics disgust at factory farming and the intensive farming of pigs and that the animal rights movement will not stop campaigning until they see factory farming, particularly the sow crate and battery cage stopped. Pork executives will gather from all over the world to discuss farming methods, the current market situation, and maximisation of profits. 8.30am, Protest at opening of Pork Conference by minister of agriculture.
